Turks and Caicos Islands Basketball
The Turks and Caicos Islands Basketball Federation (TCIBF) was founded in 1980 and tasked with the responsibility of governing the playing of basketball in accordance with the statutes of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The TCIBF also has the responsibility of preparing and selecting the male and female national teams, to compete in FIBA sponsored international basketball competitions including the FIBA Basketball World Cup, and 3×3 basketball, as well as for some national competitions, and for the development of youth basketball initiatives that address player development, coach education and licensing and safety.
The TCIBF is an official member of the Commonwealth Games Association and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The TCIBF is assigned to the Americas zone of FIBA and in turn, is assigned to the Americas Sub-Zone of Central America and Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CONCENCABA) and to the Sub-Sub-Zone of the Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC).
The primary objectives of the TCIBF are to:

Foster, develop, and promote the game of basketball in Turks and Caicos at all levels.

Liaise with the Sport Department of the Ministry of Sport, member associations, clubs of the Turks and Caicos Islands and Corporate Community to develop the sport of Basketball

Enforce the rules and regulations for the control and governing of the game in the Turks and Caicos.

OUR MANDATE
The TCIBF’s is mandated by FIBA and the government of the Turks and Caicos Islands to organize, promote, and develop the sport of basketball throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands. The federation’s organization and development of basketball focuses on all facets of the game, which includes training courses, clinics, and workshop to develop coaches and officials. Development programs targets mini basketball, the youth male, and female players, managing competitions at the local and National Championships, School’s Basketball Championships and 3X3 basketball for both male and female.
